Obituary
She is funny and has the most infectious laugh. Her smile can lighten up the darkest room -
Her presence is so undeniable. She loves to dance and she has always enjoyed good music and good food. She has a notorious sweet tooth as she is a lover of all things chocolate(cake, candy, ice cream, deserts). Her heart- oh her heart is one for the record books . She’s always willing to help someone in need. She would lend herself to all who needed her but she was especially bonded to children and the elderly and dedicated herself to preserving their dignity and innocence. She is a devout Christian and lives her life in service to God.
I know my sister is not here physically with me, but I know even more the things I know of her, the person I’ve witnessed her to be, the love I’ve seen her express to friends family and people in need does not cease simply because she isn’t here physically - I know the life I witnessed transcends and will be with her as she continues on her journey with our Father. I am so blessed I was able to be a receiver if that love ...

Blessed,
My name is Ronald Altieri, and I implore you to believe that it was a privilege to be present - last night, in celebrating the life of your dear departed Sybil Joly.
In that sorrow, I witnessed the loving courage that will stay with me as a testimony to strengthen my faith. I must say that her cousin Camille – from California, stating that while she was weary from being in the hospital for a month, she received a text from Sybil to reassure her that all will be well. In that moment, and of paramount importance, Sybil waved to her that she had faith for both herself and Camille. That is the epitome of a faithful soul, and clearly Sybil was my sister in Christ.
From the statement that "This is a tough one!" from the blessed one who received that hug from her when she was an eleven year-old visiting from Canada – to Joanne sight being an motivator to her receiving more nutrition as a result – to the sisterly recitation of Maya's poem "I rise!' – to her nephews’ bewilderment, I must say that I was truly introduced to the soul of Sybil.
I met Sybil twice, once some 6 years ago – at a wedding reception, while I was with my wife and the youngest of our three children. Another time was at a house party, and on both occasions my wife and I were very surprised to see the mutually joyful interaction between Sybil and our 3 year-old daughter. I do not know Sybil, but remembered well the gentle handshake coupled with that captivating smile.
I was there last night, because I believe it is the duty of those who follow the loving light of Christ to share in the sorrowful moments with those whom we have shared joyful moments. I have no doubt that the love she entrusted you with will help you to endure the sorrow.
By the way! I must beg your forbearance as I mention that she was never lost in direction – with a gps or otherwise, but was being used by Christ to guide others to the path of faith and eternal life in Christ. Her route was not of this world, and that is the reason her faith was a beacon of light to a higher place. She heard the voice of her soul and studied to become a RN, and her vocation is proof that her need to care for others was probably beyond human capacity to fully embrace.
When I was a teenager in Haiti, I remembered well how it felt to endure the pain of experiencing the departure of my loving aunt – who was a nurse and I was considered the child she never had. At the time, I was comforted in the thought that my aunt was an angel who came to help others heal their pains and departed. Later in life, as a mature man, I embraced the idea that the spiritual medicine she left me with, in the Light and Love of Christ, would serve me and others well, as a guiding light. These came ringing really loud within me, as I sat there to watch and absorb the loving vibes of your family.
I believe Sybil was an angel from above who came to show us a more innocent and insightful care than our sight can see, or that our morality can probably fully comprehend. May we have the fortitude to feel her always in our midst, as we reach for the better part of ourselves that can - at times, unfortunately, be misunderstood or taken advantage of by others.
In her memory, I will share the loving stories - from her study habits to her faithful calling as a RN, I've heard last night, with my daughter and young ones growing up.
I don’t know Sybil, but I met her soul last night. Let us dedicate our lives to also be angels in the Spirit of Christ.
P.S. I beg your pardon if I misspelled anyone’s name or didn’t mention a reflected personality – herein, by name per se. I assure you that was caused by unfamiliarity, as you would agree.
God bless Us!
Ronald Altieri

Beautiful Sybil, rest in peace.
I will always remember you as a hilarious lady who would treat me and my brother as real family during our summer vacation visits. You always took care of others. Your smile is unforgettable, and what to say about your sense of humour: never boring to spend time with you.
Thank you for allowing me and my brother to be in your life. You didn't have to, but you did. And you did so with love, generosity and undeniable sincerity. Bon voyage. Many Hugs.

Bonjour la famille
Nous venons de perdre notre niéce Sybill, qui vivait aux etats unis;
Joignons nos priéres, contunuons la chaîne;
Sybill,
C'est avec tant de regrets et beaucoup d'amour, que nous t'accompagnons dans ton voyage; nous sommes là, prés de toi; belle âme combattive, repose en paix.
que la grâce et la paix du SEIGNEUR soient avec toi
Luc 1:37 dit :Car rien n'est impossible à DIEU;
ne remettons pas en question la puissance de Dieu, ni sa capacité à accomplir ce qu'il promet; par la foi, attendons-nous à de grandes choses de sa part
