Dear Randy: You crossed my mind today and I shed a few tears. A great coach pushes with grace and you did that for Sakai during those beginning team years when she wasn't as confident in herself. Thank you for those times and for 'trusting that you saw something in her.' I always wished we had more time with you. You are very missed!

Randy was my classmate at Western Dubuque in Middle School and High School, he was a kind person with amazing talents. He followed his dreams, and touched many lives, taken too soon. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Fly High Randy

I remember Randy as having amazing balance and was in awe of how he could stay upright were I would fall as we goofed around on the gym bleachers at Western Dubuque middle and junior high school. It has been said that a candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long and it’s quite apparent that Randy has shed an awful bright light on a great number of persons near and far. There is no doubt he will be missed by many. I’m saddened to see him taken at such a young age. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. CW3 Randolph Puskas U.S. Army Ret.

I am so sorry to hear about Randy. I attended Western Dubuque Schools with him and became friends on Facebook seeing his amazing work with kids. He was always quiet in school, but very kind hearted. I have sent this info to our class Facebook page to let everyone know. Prayers to your family and all who knew Randy for the days and weeks ahead...

Randy was such a warm and supportive instructor to my daughter Zarya for several years many years ago. While he may be better known for his skilled coaching of many elite gymnasts, we experienced how sweet he was with the little ones. I am so sorry for your loss.
