Mr. Sora was a good man who treated me like family. I married his beatiful daughter, and I did not live up to the trust he placed in me. Life is funny in how it twists and turns in unpredictable and unplanned ways. He was a very good man and I learned much from him in the short time I was part of his life. He taught me a few things about manhood and being an adult. And he did it with a great sense of humor. He made a mark in this world, even with me - a person who was only briefly in his world.

We are deeply saddened in losing our revered friend Tony. He and George were part of the neighborhood ’ crowd’, different and older than my ’crowd’. Tony was a really cool guy that George admired and by which, was influenced ! Tony saw me coming home from High School, I was soon to be 18, and said to George that he should ask me for a date. I thought George chose me for a blind date with someone else, but all fell into place, and we married a year later! This year we celebrate 64 years of this ‘Tony story.’ Distance has kept us apart and friendship light but we did get to see each other on occasion. Sorry when he went into the home and unable to phone. We still admired Tony and Loretta’s own development of living and family—and CARS! He always remained ‘a cool guy’ of unbeatable humor and friendship, and will be in our hearts until we too meet up again, maybe joining in his new ‘crowd’!
We have sent a memorial donation St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (and matching IBM Grant) in Tonys name, knowing that he and Loretta were especially proud of his children. —Camille (Cami) Fischer

I was fortunate enough to have grown up with Anthony Sora (Tony) in South Ozone Park. I have many wonderful memories of Tony. I thank him for introducing me to weight lifting/ and taking physical care of yourself, which because of his training methods I still do to this day. Tony would invite me on occasion to have dinner with his family in which his Mom always had a great home made pasta dinner. Then, during the war years, his father took us to the aluminum plant he was working at to see how aluminum was made for building of World War 2 aircraft. His Mom/Dad also invited me with Tony to picnics a Heckscher Park on Long Island. Great memories/times. Finally when I returned from service during the Korean War Tony persuaded me to date the love of my life, the girl down the block, my wife Camille. It was my pleasure to have grown up with Tony and have been influenced by a wonderful person. Farewell my friend, Tony.
