Dear Michelle & Brian; I've just learned of Sandy's passing this week - and am shocked to hear this terrible news.
Words cannot properly define Sandy - I always called her Miss Italy. My Lord, no one knew more about Italy (or Europe, for that matter), than Sandy. Her wisdom and sage advise will be sorely missed by this industry.
There are many of us who will be at loss without her, and I can't imagine what your family is going through. Undoubtedly, you will carry on her legacy.
Warmest thoughts and prayers to you all...

To all the family - we are so saddened by Sandy's sudden passing but a relief that she did not suffer. There are no words to say at this time but let her memory live on in your lives. She was a smart business woman who built an amazing business but more importantly created an amazing family legend. Our heartfelt prayers are with you all.

Dear MIchelle,
I just heard about your mom and was shocked and profoundly sad. I am just so sorry and hope that you and your family are OK. I knew your mom for some years through our business connections and through the Italian Travel Promotion Council. She was great to know in that rather male dominated organization. We women had to stick together and she was one strong person. I admired and enjoyed your mom so much. We traveled together for the Symposia starting in Bologna, Abruzzo, Veneto, Sardegna and Puglia and around the country for the workshops yearly. We also shared talking about caring for our worsening spouses. I know your dad passed about 2 years ago and that must be tough, too, still. Anyway, I just loved her.
If there is anything I can to do help you, please let me know.

I am so sorry. I knew Sandy through work when I was at IHG. She was always such and inspiration to me and my wife, Marybeth. Marybeth decided to go into the travel business after speaking with her and getting guidance. In every interaction she always lead us to a better result. She also always spoke of family and how important it was to her. She will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences to her family.

In 1953 our freshman class arrived at St. Agnes.. The building was old even then, but we were new – brand new –full of dreams and trepidation. Sandy was always a quiet, strong presence, and sixty-five years later the memories and ties created during our four years at St. Agnes are still strong enough to move us to laughter and, in the case of Sandy’s recent passing, to tears.
In 2007 I had the opportunity to join a group of NYU students to live and study in Florence for a month. I’d never done anything like that before and I was both excited and a little panicked, so I called Sandy and asked for her advice. Not only did she generously give me her time but her suggestions were thoughtful and very, very smart (When you rent a car, make sure it has a gps –and that the gps is actually working and speaks English before you drive off!) So many things. It was a glorious month and, when I was safely back in the US, I thanked her and told her how much I loved Italy. She said she wanted to set up a special trip for me and that I should contact her. Well, time and tide being what they are, I was never quite able to do that. Missing the chance to experience Sandy’s unique vision and deep love of Italy is one of my big regrets. I know it would have been a splendid and spectacular experience and you would have gotten me home safe and sound.
Rest in peace, dear friend. Sweet dreams.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Cutrone family. Having come from a large family myself, I have unfortunately experienced a sudden loss in my family on more than one occasion so I know firsthand the pain and sorrow you may be experiencing. I hope you find strength and comfort in seeing loved ones whom you may not see very often come together to support one another and bear the burden of this loss together.
