Obituary of James J. Skala

Skala, James J., “Chief” of Bay Shore, LI, died peacefully at the Hospice Inn on November 24, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Elise. Devoted father of Patricia Skala, Mary Cornell and the late James Skala and Thomas Skala. Cherished grandfather of Kailyn Cornell. James was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany. James also served with Bay Shore Fire Department for 60 years, where he was chief from 1979-1980. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Funeral Service Thursday 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY.
