On the day my first son was born, Francis Jr. , Joe walked into my hospital room with two dozen long stem roses.....it was the most beautiful bouquet and quite unexpected... I always remember how my Mom looked at me and said "Is there something you would like to tell me?"....that was Joe. He was the kindest soul I ever knew. Always giving in the most unexpected ways... I will truly miss my dear friend and cannot tell you how lucky I was to have known him. My heartfelt condolences to you Peggy and to you Nora. I hope it gives you comfort to know that your husband and father was a wonderful soul and I know he is at peace now..... God Bless and all my love, Debbie

Joe was one of those people that was truly unique. I remember him as a bayman, a painter and a Father. Nora you wouldn't remember but your Daddy used to follow you around like a human bumper when you were learning to walk. It was so amusing to see this grown man bending over arms outstretched kind of in a semi-circle around but not touching you. Following you everywhere you went, no matter which way you turned, how fast or slow you never touched the ground or bumped into a single thing. Didn't matter how much we chided, joked, or picked on him about it, he was right behind you every inch of the way. At first I thought it was ridiculous, but as time went on and he never gave up or cared about anyone's opinion it became endearing, kind of sweet. Would have drove me nuts, but your Mom she'd smile kind of laugh and say "you know Joe" . I am truly sorry for your loss, Joe had a strange way of doing things but he had a kind heart, I will miss him. Barbara Ann
