Obituary of Josephine Lagana

Josephine Lagana lived a full, healthy, vibrant life, filled with love, until her peaceful passing on September 19, 2018 at the age of 97.  She was a long-time resident of Port Jefferson Station, NY.  She lived most of her life in Brooklyn, NY, where she made her home with her husband of many years,  NYS Supreme Court Judge Hon. Philip Lagana.  She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Brooklyn and was a first grade teacher in the NYC School system until her retirement.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband Philip, brother-in-law Louis Modica, and long-time companion Bob Giarratano.  She leaves behind her beloved family, sister Marion Modica, 6 nieces and nephews, 13 grand nieces and nephews, 4 great-grand nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends, all of whom adored her.  She was an inspiration to all who surrounded her, a prayerful woman with deep faith, who will be missed by so many for her love, kindness, caring, generous heart, and joie de vivre.
