Obituary of Pauline Alice Davis

Pauline Alice (“P.A.”) Davis, 84, of Bay Shore, NY passed away surrounded by her family on September 3, 2018.  P.A., also known as NY Rosy to her friends, has made her grand “Ta Da!” entrance in heaven.  Born on January 15, 1934 to Henry and Alice Burth, P.A. graduated from The Mary Louis Academy for girls (Jamaica Estates, NY), received her bachelor’s degree from Seton Hill University (Greensburg, PA) and her master’s degree from Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY).  She met her future husband while teaching at Allegheny Avenue Elementary School (Lindenhurst, NY).  P.A. and Francis (Ed) Davis were married in August 1960 and together raised five (5) children.  She enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, current events, and walking or riding her bicycle with Dublin, her poodle, around the Brightwaters lakes.

Loved ones that cleared the path for P.A. are her parents, Henry and Alice Burth; her husband, Ed Davis; and her brother, Ruane Burth.  Loved ones who will miss P.A. until they meet again are her children, Helen (Douglas) Young of Coram, NY; Katie Davis of Belleair Bluffs, FL; Ed (Diane) Davis of Havertown, PA; Ann (Gregory) Quinlan of Bay Shore, NY; and Pat (James) Conrad of Smithtown, NY.  P.A. will also be sorely missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren (who called her Sissy)—John Dobler, Karen (Tom) Grajewski, Michelle (Nikita) Miglis, Aimée Quinlan, Christopher Davis, Kiera Quinlan, Matthew Davis, Cassandra Dobler, and Georgios Miglis.

Memorial donations may be made to find a cure for dementia.
