Uller C. Roberts "Mama" went to be with the Lord on July 24th, 2018. She was born July 8th, 1921 to Earnest Burton and Parlee Fortune Burton. She was born in South Carolina and eventually moved to Glen Cove, Long Island. She was the ninth child, having 8 brothers and three sisters.
She truly loved the Lord. Uller joined the St. Clement Pope Church Choir in the early 80’s and became an Eastern Star. She loved to travel to see the world.
Uller was a chef. She was able to carve a turkey as if it were never touched. She loved to share her knowledge of cooking to everyone. You could always count on her in desperate times to provide a quick recipe or salvage a meal.
Uller met her first husband Isidor Colon who precedes her. Uller and Isidor had two children Emilia and Joyce Colon. In 1948 she married Oscar Roberts and three children Carolyn, Regina and Margo were born of their marriage. Uller, Oscar and the family lived in Manhattan and eventually moved to South Ozone Park, New York.
Uller’s only wish and concern was that all five of her girls would be able to take care of themselves and to have a better life. She was blessed with being a grandmother and great grandmother. She shared daily how thankful she was for this blessing.
Uller is preceded in death by her father Ernest Burton, her mother Parlee Burton; and her siblings Isaac, Earnest, Melvin, Robert, Roy, Lou, Young Blood, L.S, Annie, Joenell and Little Sis Judy.
