Hi Daddy, are you surprised? I hope you have a smile on your face. The love of your life has come home. She missed you so much like we all have. I hope that you are both happy now. I have been thinking about you a lot lately. I miss you so much and now miss Mommy so much too. Say hello to Cocoa and Jazzie they are over by the rainbow bridge. Love you all!

Hi Opa, I know you are watching over me as I write this to you. It makes me so sad to be lighting this candle right now, but it helps knowing that you are in peace. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have had a grandfather as great as you were. Everyone always said you were a perfect man, and every day that passes I realize it more and more.
I will always cherish the memories we had together. From daily walks to the park, playing those ridiculous hand clapping games on your lap, your face when I would find all the right puzzle pieces for you, you being the best at old maid (sticking a good card up to fake us out while we all picked the old maid next to it) you knowing every single crossword puzzle, watching The Three Stooges and eating a bowl of ice cream together every night. What other grandpa plays soccer with their granddaughter at 80 years old?! You were truly one of a kind.
I have always been a daddy’s girl and a granddaddy’s girl. You and my dad are the loves of my life. I hope to find a husband one day who exemplifies everything you were in a man. It makes me so upset that you won’t be at my wedding, but I know you will be up there watching down on me when that time comes. No rush, by the way.
Don’t worry Ops, we will take care of Oma- I know she misses you more than ever. The two of you were inseparable! Absolute couple goals. The life you shared and the love you had for each other for 69 years is something not everyone gets to experience- but you did! The love you two had is a love I aim to find one day.
You were the most hardworking man, with 3 jobs and taking care of 5 children, yet you still made time for everyone. You were the center of our family, always with words of wisdom and sharp as a nail. There was not one bad bone in your body, you never cursed, you never yelled and you were always kind to everyone. Because of your amazing qualities (and such passion for desserts) you have become an important role model in my life.
Thank you for always being there and for everything you have taught us. You were a great man, Opa, and may you rest in peace. We love you so much<3
Xoxo,
Kymberly

Dear Opa,
I remember you telling my dad and I your war stories about you on Utah beach during D-Day. Those stories are what made me so interested in history and in World War 2 specifically. You used to always show me things from your time in the war like that cool nazi sword. I always looked up to you and I hope I will be relied on like you were one day. I wish I could have asked you more about the war and your stories that revolved around it. You are someone who I will strive to be. Someone who is hard working and respected. I wish you could have been there for my graduation and told me that you were proud of me because those words would have gone a long way. I hope I became the man you wanted me to be. I will always love and miss you Opa.

Dear dad,
I still can't believe that you are no longer with us. I miss you so much that words cannot explain. You were the most wonderful dad to all of us. You were so proud of all of us and gave us so much love and attention. Even though you worked so hard with three jobs, you always had time for us. I remember when you tucked us in bed at night and rubbed our feet. When I was sick with asthma at nine years old, you always tried to get home early to take me to the doctor. I would walk home from school and turn the corner and see your car there. I would yell YES, DADDY'S HOME!!!
I also remember those times you would take us to your job. How cool that was!!! We all remember when we had to get our school test's signed and we got really bad grades. We all went to you and you would say, "next time try to do better. "(mom definitely did not know any of that). What I will miss most is you telling me, "you're a good kid and your still daddy's little girl".
I will miss you pop and always will. You are at peace now and are with your mom and dad, your daughter Rosemarie, family and friends. Always in my heart.
Love you,
Daddy's little girl

Hi Dad,
We met for the first time Nov. 15, 1987. I felt a connection instantly. Later on you not only became my father-in-law but, a friend. We had so many good times and laughs, I can’t even count. The many late night coffee and cake just talking. Corrine getting mad at me wondering where I was. Breakfast at Mike’s Diner, lunches at Zum Stammtisch, travels upstate, sharing I don’t know how many bratwursts. So many good times. As Bob Hope used to say “thanks for the memories”.
“Dir gehort mein Herz” ( you,ll always be in my heart)

Daddy, I miss you so much already. I want to thank you for being the best dad in the world. We were so much alike in the love for animals and our love for crossword puzzles. We even looked alike except for your beautiful blue eyes everyone commented on. I will never get over losing you. I hope you are with all the angel's like your daughter Rosemarie and your brother Robert who also passed away within the last week. Please send me some signs, as I know you will be watching over me. I will love you forever and I know I will see you again. This is not where it ends.

Dad and Opa, You were the most wonderful and caring father and grandfather that any family could ask for! The love you have for your wife and children, grandchildren and friends was always so evident and you always had a kind heart and would be so generous to all. We love you so much and will miss you forever! Love Diana, Richie and Kymberly (the little one as you called her!) You were the Pie in the sky to our daughter from day she was born and will forever remain in our memories and our hearts!
