Obituary of Michael Joseph Quinn, Jr.

Quinn, Michael Joseph, Jr. (95 years of age), of Bay Shore, LI, on April 5, 2018. Beloved husband of Frances Anne Quinn. Devoted father of Brian Patrick (Kim McGloughlin) Quinn, Rhianna (Eugene Roddy) Quinn Roddy, Michael Joseph (Corye Sabanos) Quinn III, Lawrence Charles (Gail Evanish) Quinn and Alanna Anne Quinn. Cherished grandfather of Liam Quinn, Alexandra Quinn, Conor Roddy and Christian Quinn. Dear brother of Gerald Quinn. Michael, a proud combat veteran, served in the Marine Corps during World War II. After six years with the NYPD, he joined the FDNY and retired as Battalion Chief after 37 years of distinguished service. Fire Commissioner Cavanaugh termed one his rescues “the most spectacular individual rescue in the department’s history”.  Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Monday 12:00 PM at St. Patrick’s R.C.
