Cecilia D. O’Shaughnessy (nee O’Brien)

“Celia” lived a loving, full life raising her most prized accomplishment – her five sons. Born in Brooklyn to Johanna and James O’Brien on Nov. 8, 1926 and passed away peacefully on Mar 23, 2018 at the age of 91.  A resident of Babylon Village since the 1960s, her love of gardening was evident by the beautiful flower beds that surrounded her home.  Her love and generosity was given to all, including four-legged creatures. Celia is pre-deceased by her son, Sean O’Farrell; sister, Rita Meyers and brother, Leonard O’Brien.  She is survived by her devoted sons Patrick O’Farrell and his wife, Sandy of West Islip; Matthew O’Farrell and his wife Nicole of West Babylon; Timothy O’Farrell of Florida; Vincent O’Shaughnessy of Babylon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Her Irish wit, charm and wisdom will be sorely missed, but lives on in her loving sons.  There will be a private family ceremony at Chapey’s in West Islip on Sunday, Mar 25, 2018.  In lieu of flowers, Celia has requested that donations be made to:
