My beautiful cousin Debbie, I cannot believe what I am seeing and hearing that you are no longer with us. I have admired you my whole life as someone who loved her family deeply and had the most beautiful smile in the whole world! I can remember as a little girl, standing in your families kitchen in Massapequa when I told my dad that I wanted to marry an Italian boy because my cousins are the MOST beautiful people I know! As a true Irishmen he wasn't THRILLED! But that is how I felt then and now. And for the record, I was RIGHT! My mom adored you. I know she has you in her arms right now. And I bet she is asking you how you did your make up and loving your beautiful hair color! To my Peterkin family, there aren't words to tell you how sorry I am for this loss of my beautiful cousin. I remember Debbie from her days at the Emerald Isle and we became very good friends. Turns out she moved around the block from me and even though I have not seen her in years the memories of the great times we shared will always be with me. May she rest in peace.

To my very special family: I find this so hard to believe, as we only spoke last week & said we would get together very soon as we tried very hard to do so every few months. Debbie was more like a sister to me than a cousin,someone so full of humor & seriousness. Many time we would laugh so hard for so long & could not even remember what we were laughing about. Debbie had so much wisdom & positiveness she just inspired me.I was always in awe of her. She never complained to me about her daily struggles which I know were many and she always had time to be a sounding board for me and everyone else in her life. I was so very blessed by having her in my life and I will miss her so very much,but I will talk & pray to her often,because I know she was & is a true angel. She said to me last week, I would just love & sit & talk & relax with you for several hours & i said yes we would make time soon..Well I will talk to her daily as I will always need her as my sounding board..Debbie I will love you & miss you forever until we meet again in heaven. Please pray for me..with love to one of my best friends....leslie
