So sorry to hear of Suzanne's passing. I always enjoyed
being in her company. She was one of the wittiest people I have had the pleasure of knowing.

Rest in Peace Sweet Niece
I AM FREE
I stand quietly here,
the clouds brushing tenderly past my face
like invisible wisps of fingers caressing.
The mountain peak I am placed on
touches the Universe,
and it is now that I feel your presence
surrounding me.
My arms lengthen,
become the beautiful feathered wings
they were always meant to be
and
I am free.
I leave this earth slowly behind
and gently glide.
The wind embraces my body,
lifts me, carries me, nestles me.
Ripples of sorrow from below
suddenly disturb this tranquility.
Weep not for me.
Instead, remember my laughter,
my determination, my smile, my soft eyes.
But most of all,
remember how very much I loved all of you.
Still do.
Weep not for me.
For I am
sheltered, held, loved
and
I am free.
Love,
Aunt Pat, Uncle Eddie and Family

She was a one of a kind human being: Hard shell, tough-as-nails, who could have been a character in a noir novel. Her wit and intellect were only matched by her strong convictions, both of which she fearlessly wielded, dispatching any unfortunate mortal who dared to challenge her. She was a no-nonsense woman with compassion and morals so just she probably could have ran the Supreme Court herself. However, she also had a gentler side. A heart so warm and comforting like a fireplace in the wintertime. Once past the stern exterior (for those lucky enough to be invited in) you felt loved and protected in ways that are hard to describe. She was a very kind soul who cared deeply for friends and family--for those she loved. She made you feel special.
Though brief, I will cherish the moments I spent with her. Rest in peace, I hope you're drinking a vodka martini just the way you like it.
My condolences to the Cisek family and everybody she leaves behind. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. She will be dearly missed.

I'm sad that I hadn't seen Suzanne for many years. I have very fond memories of the times we had together with the whole family when we were younger out in Lake Ronkonkoma. I remember holding Uncle Mickeys hand in the hospital before he passed away. I pray God was there for Suzanne in her latter days. I pray He comforted her. I'm praying after the fact, but with God there is no time factor in eternity, and I believe I can pray after the fact. God I also pray I see her in the Kingdom of God. God bless David, Caitlin and the entire Connaughton family. May Christ give you great grace and take away the sting of death. Comfort those who mourn in the name of Jesus. Amen.

No-one could have asked for a more amazing sister. Brilliant, funny, a friend & faithful ally, she would light up a room. As a young woman she married her one true love, and brought the best of men, David into our family. With hearts full of adventure & a passion for life they moved to Australia. There they were able to follow one of their many mutual interests by working in theater. Their greatest accomplishment there was having my fabulous niece Caitlin (aka Missy). Cait has her parents intellectual curiosity, her Dad' exuberance for life, and Suzanne's creativity. I got to share their life thru my sister, and from all the time we spent together. My sister was steadfast, feircly loyal, full of life, and hysterically funny. I used to tell her all the time, after spending an hour on the phone laughing till I had tears, that I felt I should pay her for the comedy relief. Hers was the number I called when I was in the most trouble. Her advice was always spot on, no matter what the topic. She was my lifelong dearest and most trusted friend. I can't even imagine yet how I can possibly live without her, but I will because she would have it no other.way. Suzanne, you can't imagine how my heart aches, and just how much I will miss you! All my love, always, Teri
