Obituary of George R. Hechler

Hechler-George R. of East Islip, LI, on February 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Joyce Hechler. Cherished brother of Maggie and brother in law Willie Soukup and sister in law Barbara A. and the late Harry F. Brown. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews family and friends. Active in the East Islip Fire Department for 69 years, serving as Fireman and Racing Team Member. Retired Captain of the Suffolk County Police Department after 32 years. Proud U.S. Army Veteran. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). A religious service will be held, Tuesday 10:00 AM, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Islip, LI. Interment at the Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, LI. Visiting Sunday and Monday 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.  Firematic Service at the funeral home, Monday 8:00 PM.
