Obituary of Albert Joseph Luglio

Luglio-Albert Joseph, of Babylon, LI, on December 17, 2016 at 85 years old. Beloved husband of Barbara for 59 years. Loving father of Jeanne (Thomas) Gaughan, Joseph Luglio, Thomas Luglio and Peter (Candice) Luglio. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, William, Peter, Mark, Andrew, Vincent, Walter, Simon and Sabine. Predeceased by sister, Theresa Demarest. Son of Florence and Joseph Luglio. Al attended St. John's University. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1953 and served proudly as an officer in the Atlantic fleet. He went on to receive his law degree from St. John's School of Law. In 1964, he cofounded a respected legal practice in Deer Park, NY. Al lived most of his life in the Town of Babylon, where he was a valued community leader, contributing his legal expertise and civic pride to many religious and public organizations throughout his life. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Southward Ho Country Club. Al was a very proud father and grandfather and loved spending time with his nine grandchildren. He will be sorely missed. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, Friday 10 AM, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Babylon, LI. Memorial Visiting Thursday 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
