I have just learned of Gail's passing and I am overwhelmed with sadness. Gail was a frequent visitor to the Berner Library, and often brought her classes in for books. She was an inspiring, dedicated teacher and a wonderful colleague. Her friendship and kindness will stay always in our memories.

Our family wanted to send our condolences. Mrs Cook was my daughters English teacher and she was so kind to come to our home when my daughter Megan had back surgery and was placed on home instruction.
She was so compassionate to Megan and made catching up with class work manageable.
Megan and I were so sad to hear that she had passed away. Please know that we are not only so grateful for what she did for Megan but how she did it
Prayers to your family
From the McShane Family

I was unbelievably lucky to have Mrs. Cook as my English teacher two years ago. English has never been my favorite subject, but she made it my absolute favorite that year. She was funny, kind, but most importantly, encouraging to me to strive for the best I could do. My friends and I, despite having her during separate periods, would talk about our classes with each other and the funny things that would happen. She made that year one of the best, most enjoyable, years of my life. My friends and I started a little thing we called a personal dictionary, where we just kept a log of words that we found interesting, and Mrs. Cook always was so interested in and and encouraged us to keep it going throughout the rest of school. During ninth grade, we came back to visit her a few times and she always got so excited to see us, it always brightened up my day to see her. I always said that if I ever made varsity volleyball, I would pick her as my teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day without a doubt. I honestly don't know what my life would be had I not been lucky enough to have met Mrs. Cook.
