Obituary of April F. Wey-Turner
April was a friend, sister, daughter, aunt, Godmother, wife. She was a style guru, a beach lover, an adventurer and at times a singer (you can find her and her friends singing in the Billy Joel film, “Live From Yankee Stadium,” featured in the Kennedy Center Honors in 2014!). She was a Jimmy Buffet lover, a Burberry wearer and a Williams-Sonoma shopper. Devoted to General Hospital and a fan of Gilmore Girls. She hosted many parties, family dinners and holidays, could cook and arrange a spectacular spread, and made the best sauce and meatballs. She loved her nieces and nephews, showered them with gifts and cheered them on in all of their endeavors, often from the stands at their events and high school sports and college band performances and lacrosse games, at Notre Dame, Penn State, Virginia Tech, James Madison and Bloomsburg University and more. She was an extraordinarily organized and adept office manager, and was at one time dubbed the mayor of Kismet. She found her happy place there and at Montauk. She lived in Babylon Village with her devoted and loving husband Chris, with neighbors that quickly became dear friends. She fought leukemia bravely and fiercely. Those that were lucky enough to have her in their life, to call her friend or family, love her to the moon and back, and will miss her forever.
