Obituary of Reverend Hugh Donald Cannon
Cannon, Reverend Hugh D., on October 23, 2017. Rev. Cannon was born in New York, New York on May 20, 1939. Beloved son of the late Hugh and Mary (O’Donnell) Cannon. Loving brother of Manus Cannon, the late John Cannon and the late Mary Dorrian. Dear brother-in-law of Maria Cannon and Thomas Dorrian. Cherished Uncle Donald to his many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Rev. Cannon served at St. Theresa’s, St. Louis, MO; Associate Pastor at Infant Jesus, Port Jefferson; St. Ignatius Loyola, Hicksville; St. John Nepomucene, Bohemia; Mary Immaculate, Bellport; Pastor of St. Pius X, Plainview; Pastor of St. Peter the Apostle, Islip Terrace and Associate Pastor of St. Mary, East Islip; retired in 2013. Reposing at Church of St. Mary, 20 Harrison Ave., East Islip, NY 11730 on Thursday 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Mass of Transferral Thursday 7:30 PM at Church of St. Mary, East Islip. Funeral Mass on Friday 10:30 AM at Church of St. Mary, East Islip, Bishop John O. Barres presiding. Burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Bay Shore. In lieu of flowers Rev. Cannon’s loving family suggests donations be made in his loving memory to the St. Mary’s Parish Outreach, 20 Harrison Ave., East Islip, NY 11730. Arrangements entrusted to The Fredrick J.
