Obituary

Emma Jule Lichtenberger (Picken) passed away on October 31, 2024. Emma is predeceased by her husband, Robert Lichtenberger, her brother, William Picken, her sister, Florence Picken and her parents, William and Florence Picken. Emma is survived by her nephews and nieces, Fred Leuthauser, Susan Wolpert, William Picken, Timothy Picken and Mary Jo Dein. Emma was born on January 18, 1929 and grew up in Bay Shore, New York. Emma lived a full life enjoying sailing on the Great South Bay and travelling with her husband Bob on the Intracoastal to Marathon, Florida. She was an avid bridge player and especially loved the theatre, both Broadway and local shows. Emma will be greatly missed by family and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 12th from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy., West Islip, NY 11795. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 13th at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 754 Montauk Hwy., Islip, NY 11751. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY.
