Franco Rios, age 81, of South Ozone Park, NY passed away on October 8, 2024 at NYU Langone Hospital in Mineola, NY of pneumonia. Franco was born on December 17, 1942, in Hatillo, Puerto Rico to Dolores (nee Vega) and Marcello Rios. He was one of eight siblings. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1952. There he met his beloved soul-mate Carol (nee Goldberg) and was married on November 21, 1961. They had two children, Teresa Carroll and Mark Rios. He is survived by his wife, children, their spouses Thomas Carroll and Geradine Rios (nee Pagnotta), grandchildren Chelsea Cavallaro, her husband Rocco, Meghan Carroll, her fiancée Michael Jenkins, Jordan Rios and great-granddaughter Amelia Cavallaro. Also, he is survived by his brother Jose Ramon Rios and his wife Eresdari (nee Valentin), sisters Anna Santiago and her husband Nestor, Awilda Rios, Mildred Rios, and sister-in-law Liduvina Rios Quinones (nee Figuoroa.) He is predeceasd by his parents, his sister Elba Rios, his brothers Oscar Rios and Jose Manuel Rios. Franco loved his family above all things! He was an avid saltwater and surf fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, oil painting and making/designing custom fishing poles. His favorite thing was making his grandchildren laugh!!! He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
