Obituary

Ralph G. Reiser, of Syosset, New York, passed away peacefully on May 22nd surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Ralph was born to Ralph W. and Margaret Reiser on March 7th, 1954. He was raised in Ridgewood alongside his siblings Peggy (Comenius Palaganas), Terry, and Bob (Sue Intondi). He was a proud alumnus of Christ the King High School (Class of 1971) and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2015. He received his BA from Fordham University (Class of 1975) and his JD from St. John’s Law (Class of 1980). In his extensive career as an attorney, Ralph worked tirelessly in his pursuit of justice for the Deaf community (of which he was a proud member). Never one to shy away from a fight or to stay quiet about his beliefs, he was steadfast in his conviction that everyone deserves equal treatment before the law. Ralph took on cases that nobody else was willing to take and in 2018 was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. His pursuit of a law career also led him to his loving wife of 39 years, Anne T. Breen. They raised three children, Kathleen (Jared Kmiotek), Daniel, and Stephen in their Syosset home. He delighted in his role of “Pop Pop” to his three beloved (yet mischievous) grandchildren, Caden, Caylee, and Cora Jo, who themselves enjoyed playing pranks on him, such as hiding his shoes and keys, and at times running off with various documents from his home office. In addition to his family, he is remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, clients, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Camp Mark 7, where he served as Counsel, or the Lexington School for the Deaf, where he served as Vice President of the Board of Trustees. “Now he belongs to the ages”
