Obituary

Isobel Knapp Comis of Pearl River and Old Bethpage,NY, died March 6, 2023 at home in Pearl River, NY, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Comis worked as a secretary for Sperry and Northrop Grumman, a longtime member of the Grumman Retiree Club, Red Hats, Care Cats, and numerous organizations. In Pearl River, she was active in her library, part of a writing group, and active with seniors and the Club. Isobel Knapp Comis was born June 28, 1933 in St. Albans, Queens New York to Frederick and Isobel (Knapp) Giebel. Predeceased by her husband, Dino Comis, survived by her four children, Elise (Comis)Devlin, Isabel (Comis)Degenaars, Jean (Comis)Lacharme, and John Comis, grandchildren, Michael, Catherine, and Brian Devlin, Marie, Dominique, and Christian Tatibouet, Christine (Degenaars) Bendet, Robert Degenaars, and Shawna, Taryn, and John D. Comis, with seven great grandchildren. Visiting on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and on Thursday March 9, 2023 at Fredrick J. Chapey and Son Funeral Home, Bethpage, NY from 3-6 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:15 AM Friday at St. Martin of Tours, Bethpage, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY
