Obituary

Compitello, Thomas C., LCDR, USN, (Ret.), of West Islip, on January 21, 2023. Loving son of Edie and the late Ike Compitello. Devoted father of Thomas (Lindsay) Compitello and Lexi (Rhys) Compitello. Cherished grandfather of Cannon, Pierson, Coco, Viviane and Maggie. Dear brother of James Compitello and Maria Strupp. Thomas was a retired Naval Aviator and Surface Warfare Officer from 1973 until 1993. He was also a dedicated teacher and school board member of the West Islip School District. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Visiting Thursday 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A private interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’ name may be made at http://www.unitedwayli.org/tomcompitello. www.chapeyfamily.com
