Gribbin, Joan Browne, 89, passed away on Monday, De111cember 26, 2022. We lost a caring free spirit who spread joy and laughter everywhere she went. Defined by a rare ability to listen closely and share in others’ feelings, Joan made loved ones, friends, and perfect strangers feel special. Important moments in your life-achievements, challenges, milestones-became treasured memories in hers. Joan was born to the late Lillian and Raymond Browne. She was predeceased by her husband, who she lovingly referred to as “my Bill”. Joan is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Greg) of Jupiter, Florida, her sons, Bill (Cathy) of Bohemia, New York, and Bob of Punta Gorda, Florida. Joan’s family also includes six grandchildren-Heather (Michael), Ryan, Leigh (Ryan), Colleen (Mark), Lauren (Sean), and Connor (Catherine)- eight great-grandchildren, and another due this week. Her family is comforted knowing that Joan and “her Bill” are together again. Friends and family are invited to a visitation with Joan’s family at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Visiting Thursday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Friday 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM.
