TEUFEL- Deacon John George, of West Islip, LI, on December 12, 2022. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Anne Teufel. Devoted father of Thomas (Susan) Teufel, John (Marianne) Teufel, Mary Teufel, Carolyn (William) Knauth, Catherine (Michael) Thaxter. Cherished grandfather of Patricia, Kelly, Keri, Thomas, William, Amanda, Christine, Irene, Emily, Cassandra and Steven. Loving great grandfather of Christopher, Aurora, Zackary, Mollie, Callahan, Tyler and Lucas. Dear brother of Carol Ann Wagner. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). John was a proud Korean War Army Veteran and a Deacon at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in West Islip since 1979. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Friday, 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, West Islip, LI. Interment to follow at Calverton, Calverton, LI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in John’s loving memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037 or Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Outreach, 455 Hunter Avenue, West Islip, NY 11795. Visitation Thursday, 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
