Obituary

YOST- Denise (Schemering) of Bay Shore, LI, on May 12, 2022. Beloved wife of the late John Yost. Loving mother of William R. (Nancy) Yost, Erin T. (Andrew) Battles, Catherine D. (Christopher) Lilley and Megan L. (Charles K.) Sloup. Cherished nana to Ryan, Margaret, Jackson, Rowan, Grayson, Galen, Sawyer, Charley and Sloane. Dear sister of Donnajean (Mark) Long, Raymond Schemering and Diane Tyrell. Fond sister in law to William G. (Susan) Yost. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Denise was a dedicated nurse, respected Girl Scout leader and avid gardener. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.) Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, West Islip, LI. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore, LI. Visiting Monday 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Tuesday 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church Parish Outreach, 455 Hunter Avenue, West Islip, NY 11795.
