Obituary

With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of our mother. Linda Bafundo, 74, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, March 14, 2022. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Vito Bafundo. Linda was born in Astoria to the late Felice and Serafina Borgia on November 10,1947. Linda is survived by her son Christopher and her daughter Tina and her husband Stephen as well as her beloved grandchildren Joshua, Winter, and Elyssa of whom she was so proud. Also surviving are her sister Joy and her niece and nephew Debra and Raymond, with whom she was very close. Linda was fun loving and enjoyed being around people. She was always ready to hang out and made everyone around her happy. Anyone who met Linda immediately loved her and everyone called her Grammy. Linda loved her family and especially loved watching her grandchildren grow up. She never missed a soccer game, musical performance, dance recital or competition, and even traveled to Missouri to see her grandson's military graduation. During her working years, Linda was a waitress who loved the job because of the people. She was a hard worker who supported her family on her own. After she retired she always talked about how she missed talking to the people. Family will receive guests on Thursday, March 16, 2022 from 3-5 pm and 7-9:30 pm at the Chapey and Sons Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road in Bethpage. A mass will be held on Friday, March 17, 2022 at 11:15 am at St. Killian Church, 485 Conklin Street in Farmingdale.
