Obituary

Daughter of Helen V. and Roland Glozyga, loving and devoted sister to Patricia (Jack) Sheehan. Devoted to her aunt, uncles and many cousins. Honorary aunt to the Sheehan’s. God mom to Christian, Elizabeth and Summer. Stepmom to Louis King and Sara. 39 year employee of a small MFA Company. She worked her way up from sales to be the secretary to the secretary of the company and the financial vice president. She was luckily thought of as management and union and negotiates their contracts on several occasions. During her employment, Olivia attended Dowling College where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree and went on for her Masters. She was honor society and also collaborated on the song for Dowling. Also during her work year, she was a dedicated volunteer with Bay Shore – Brightwaters Ambulance Corp. She was an EMT, Olivia was with them for a number of years and was instrumental along with 2 colleagues in overseeing the reconstruction of an old coat factory, adjacent to Southside Hospital into the efficient spacious functioning building the ambulance has today. She is a life member of Bay Shore-Brightwaters and she always enjoyed going to their annual dinner dances in October and seeing her old friends. Ida, as well as some of her colleagues at the ambulance are with her on the plaque that hang in the lobby.

Olivia loved to sing and had belonged to the choir at Sayville Methodist. She was a soloist on occasion at friend’s weddings. She was so disappointed at feeling that her voice wasn’t good enough to continue to sing in the choir. We always loved to acknowledge the “catch the spirit” sign as we went to Sayville Methodist on Montauk Highway. Always willing to help – she loved to see the children, especially the little ones who came in with their parents at Dunkin Donuts in Oakdale in the mornings. Devoted friend to Ann in Oregon, Audrey (Knight) in the U.K., Sue Boyd and Chuck and Ruth Broadloener and many others. She loved the expression “heart to heart” and well done good and faithful servant from the table – Matthew. Olivia was a seeker of truth and she never stopped learning. Olivia was a 20 year resident of a small cottage in the “artist colony” of the Vanderbuilt Estate – called Idle Hour. She treasured everything that reminded her of that olden time. Well done good and faithful servant.
