Obituary

Marguerite Rocco Orsomarso was born on January 21, 1927 in East Harlem, New York, in what is now known as Spanish Harlem. Back then it was Italian East Harlem. During her young childhood Marguerite also lived with her parents in Italy and was able to speak fluent Italian. In New York, Marguerite lived on East 117th street. She Attended Mother Cabrini High School, and later got a bachelor's in English and master's degree in education from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Marguerite married Dominick Orsomarso on July 2, 1955. They met at a dance on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, Queens, at a Catholic Charities event. She worked at Schweppes soda company at her first job out of college. She was also an elementary school teacher in Kew Gardens, New York. One year, one of her students was the famous singer/songwriter Paul Simon. She was a very caring woman. She was always compassionate towards others. Marguerite was the loving mother of two children, Gail Orsomarso Vitale and Donald Orsomarso She is survived by 3 grandchildren: Rebecca Vitale, Danielle Vitale and Daniel Orsomarso Marguerite was a strong Christian. She loved writing Christian poetry and praying with everyone she met. She believed in eternal life after the judgment Day. Her spirit is now with God.
