Obituary

Emilio Morales Born in Culebras, a small island off the east coast of Puerto Rico, on September 11,1930. As a child, Emilio enjoyed fishing and later developed a great love for the outdoors becoming an avid hunter. At the age of 15, he came to the United States to help his brother run his “Bodega” (grocery store). During his early years he became a boxer and though he did not pursue boxing as a career, he stayed connected to the world of boxing by becoming a timekeeper for boxing matches in NYC and Long Island. He worked as an Attendant for Pilgrim State Hospital for 38 yrs. He is preceded by his son Roberto and survived by his wife Judith, his children Michael and Patricia, daughter in law Jill, step children Fred, Judy, Anthony and Eddie as well as many grand and great grand children. One of which, Michael Paul (Moose) he knew could be a prospect for the Major Leagues. Now, that has become a reality, one that would make this “little papa” very proud. He was known by his stepfamily as “Memo”, a loving name given to him by his step granddaughter, Brianna, when she could not pronounce his name properly as a toddler. His co-workers and many of his friends also knew him as “Eddie”. Emilio was baptized into Christ on May 17, 1997 and has been part of the Long Island Church of Christ family ever since. He finished his race on Saturday, July 10, 2021 and will be rejoicing with his Lord and Savior in Paradise. He will be greatly missed by many. Rejoice in Paradise “Memo”! Until we meet again! For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 1Corinthians 5:1
