POKORNY- Angela J. of Sayville, NY, passed away on January 9, 2021 at age 90. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Robert J. Pokorny. Devoted mother of Deborah Ann Pokorny-Klein, Robert J. Pokorny, Jr., and Michael A. Pokorny, beloved mother-in-law of David Klein, Laura Pokorny, and Joan Pokorny. Cherished sister of Josephine Basilotta, and the late Caroline Rice. Cherished Nana of David Pokorny (Christine Pokorny), Erica Pokorny Sutera (Vincent Sutera), Angela Pokorny, Maria Pokorny, and Michael Pokorny, Jr. Beloved great-grandmother of Jaden Pokorny, Riley Pokorny, Rayna Litwak, Jacob Litwak, and Kyle Pokorny. Also, beloved by many nieces and nephews.
Angela was an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, friend, confidante, Nana, great grandmother and auntie. Smart, with a fabulous sense of humor, she shared 100’s of pearls of wisdom along with her fabulous recipes. She was a woman of valor, and her example of strength, bravery, fortitude, encouragement and loving devotion was inspiring to all those who knew her.
She was an avid reader, an English historian, and was interesting to talk to about historic and current events. She had the capability and enjoyed learning about current technology all during her senior years. She kept herself relevant by honing the skills necessary to be able to communicate with her friends and family near and far. She loved playing “Words with Friends” with people from all over the world.
